A QA Engineer is needed to join a rapidly growing technology service based in Edinburgh. This is a unique opportunity for a QA Test Engineer to take ownership of the test function whilst assisting in the development of critical business systems.

Working in an Agile environment the QA Test Engineer will be responsible for defining and implementing the QA strategy that ensures the platforms features are developed to meet the specified functional, performance, security and reliability requirements. This pivotal role will see you writing test scripts, designing and implementing test processes, automating tests (where possible) and managing their continued improvement to deliver scalable, maintainable and defect free features.

Key skills

Your CV just needs to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience working in a similar QA Testing role in an agile environment;
  • Experience with the full end to end cycle of testing, writing test scripts, automating and executing tests, as well as control over environment management;
  • The ability to develop automated testing using tools i.e. Selenium, Cucumber or Protractor would be desirable
  • The ability to apply behaviour driven testing (BDD) or Test Driven Development (TDD) approaches;

Purpose of Role

Job Description: We’re looking for a Business Planning Consultant. The role sits within our fast expanding consultancy practice which is devoted to assisting our customers, across multiple sectors, overcome their planning, consolidation, budgeting and forecasting challenges.

This role requires experience in Finance or Accountancy and the ability to learn quickly.  Ideally you will have a consulting background, although this is not essential. You must, however, have expertise in stakeholder management and be able to interface with the needs business of a variety of businesses and understand the commercial objectives of your work. You must be able to work without supervision and be willing to travel to different customer sites. You should also have fantastic communication skills and be able to adapt, where needed, to both technical and business people.

When not on a customer site, you will enjoy the flexibility of working from home – or from our city-centre offices in Edinburgh or London.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Capturing and understanding client business requirements.
  • Designing and implementing IBM Cognos Controller Solutions.

About the role

  • Solution architecture and hands-on involvement with new, large or complex projects;
  • Introduce new advanced analytics tool and techniques into our consultancy team, and advise on their application within client projects;

  • Become an evangelist for the technologies and solutions that Barrachd delivers;

Your experience will include:

  • 5+ years of experience in design and delivery of data analytics projects (e.g. data warehousing, data migration, MI, BI, Planning and/or predictive);
  • Broad experience of different technologies and solutions in the market;
  • Experience of advanced analytical techniques (predictive, AI, machine learning) highly desired;
  • Proven track record in project scoping and delivery;
