We have some exciting news; the next chapter in the Barrachd story.

The story started in 2007 in Edinburgh when Barrachd launched as a three-man start-up. Since then, the team’s grown exponentially, working closely with some of the very best businesses across the UK. As we’ve grown, we’ve learnt a lot along the way – and we’ve helped our clients learn even more.

Our next major milestone is a deal that will allow us to share our knowledge, technology and skills even further still.

We’re pleased to confirm that Barrachd has been acquired by Capita, the UK’s market leader in outsourcing and professional services.

While Barrachd’s 40-strong team and service will stay the same, working as part of the FTSE 100 group offers the chance to grow the business further, says Barrachd MD Clark Wilson: “This deal provides a unique opportunity to expand across a wide-ranging portfolio, giving Capita’s clients access to the unique business solutions Barrachd has developed.

“Our priority is to ensure we continue to deliver the same excellent service our clients already know and trust us for, the opportunity Capita presents us with now will provide for the continued expansion of Barrachd, giving our employees a fantastic opportunity to further develop their skills as part of a much larger organisation.”

“Combining Capita’s resources and experience with Barrachd’s market-leading solutions and the expertise of our staff will create a strong proposition across all the markets we work in,” continues Wilson. “I genuinely believe this is an excellent move for the company and a great opportunity for us all.”

While Barrachd (and our clients) have always realised the power of data, the acquisition reinforces the increasing importance being placed on business analytics as organisations look to tap into data to identify problems, discover opportunities and solve issues.

However, with the existing team remaining at the helm – spearheaded by managing director Clark Wilson, business analytics director Robbie Crawford and sales director Grant Smith – Barrachd will continue to offer the same unrivalled service, creating solutions that help our clients draw real meaning from their data.

Capita chief executive Andy Parker adds: “Our clients in both the private and public sector are increasingly looking at how they can benefit from analytical technology, both to enhance their customer service but also to explore new markets and opportunities for growth. Barrachd has a great record of working with companies to detect, gather and monitor business critical information, helping them to identify problems and solve issues.”

If you have any questions, please do get in touch. In the meantime, we’d like to thank all our clients and suppliers once again for your continued support and we look forward to working together during this exciting time and into the future.
